| The Posh Pig does RIBS, Whole Hogs, Chicken, Pork Shoulders, Beef Brisket, and anything else that can be smoked. We have Traditional BBQ Sauce, Our Own Sweet and Spicy Sauce, Our Own Raspberry-Rhubarb, and many many more. We also have our own HABANERO Garlic Sauce that has some real serious attitude. We also provide all the support items like Honey Garlic Sauce that has some real serious attitude. We also provide all the support items like Honey Mustard Cole Slaw, Bodacious Baked Beans, Texas Fried Potatoes, Corn Bread, Green Chile Corn Pudding, Roasted Garlic, and many more items you won't find anywhere else. For Larger Events, we Service all of the mid west from Arkansas to Wisconsin and beyond. Smaller events can be handled with relatively short notice, larger events require additional time for preparation. |
| The POSH PIG custom tailors each event so there are no hard and fast rules, but these guidelines will help you get some idea of the costs. In general, Pig Roasts are the hardest to do because we SMOKE our pigs over an all wood fire for anywhere from 12 to 18 hours. Some others out there have cookers that are gas fired. They put in the PIG and leave it overnight. This gives you a COOKED (baked) pig with little or no smoke. Our Smoker (Custom designed and built) uses all wood (or wood and hardwood charcoal), to give the PIG a naturally smoked flavor that is second to non. You have to start with good product if your going to make a great finished product and we use the best premium Ribs we can find. We do Ribs the right way. They are Smoked long and slow over an all wood fire. We use a mixture of Oak and Hickory and sometimes Apple wood. This imparts a flavor that can’t be matched using charcoal briquettes or a gas grill, and we don’t pare boil or steam our ribs. We use our own dry rub mixture and after the ribs have smoked for a couple of hours, we cut them up into individual bones and baste them with our Honey and Garlic Glaze. We then smoke them for up to an hour longer basting them over and over until they are succulent and finger licking good. We then serve them along with other sauces to taste. We have a traditional ketchup and brown sugar based sauce, a Raspberry-Rhubarb sauce, a kicked up HABANERO Honey Garlic sauce, a New Mexican Style Chile based sauce, and many others that we can do. We do Spare Ribs at $16 per person. This includes sides of Cole Slaw and Baked Beans. Baby Backs for 50 persons with Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Curly Cut Potatoes, and Ice Cream to finish costs $18 per person. These prices are based on a minimum of 25 persons. This includes 4 Bones per person. Your tempted, but the 25 person minimum concerns you? Call and lets talk, we will do smaller numbers. We can cook on site or we can deliver finished product ready to eat. A Small Pig (120-140 lbs.) will feed 50 - 120 people, with sides of Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, and Bread will generally cost from $750 to $1400. This varies with the market price of the Hog, number of people served, distance to travel, etc. On the high end, we provide extra sides which may include Watermelon Fruit Salad, Smoked Sausages, Corn Pudding, Smoked Chickens, or other specialty items. Prices are somewhat less if you prefer just a HOG, without the sides. A Larger Pig (140-180 lbs.) will feed 140 - 200 people. This will run from $850 - $1800 and up depending on the sides, number of people served, distance to travel, etc. When we do parties larger then 150 we recommend additional sides. Also, we provide additional help to take care of the larger events, so costs do go up accordingly. |
| We do not provide any beer or Liquor. That is up to you. We certainly don’t discourage it, we just can’t provide it. We could quote you lower prices and then add a 15-18% Gratuity like everyone else, but we don't do that. We quote you a price that reflects the bottom line. On Events that are more then 1 hour from home base, we need to charge a little extra because we need a Motel for overnight where we can freshen up. Costs will vary with the area, time of the year, etc. This is due to market conditions. |
